外交部晚間發布新聞稿表示，北韓繼今年1月6日在咸鏡北道吉州郡豐溪里進行第4次核試後，今天上午9時30分（台北時間上午8時30分）又在同一地區進行第5次核試。
中華民國政府對北韓當局漠視聯合國安理會第1718、1874、2087、2094及2270號等5項決議，以及不顧國際社會勸阻，再度肆行核試表達嚴正譴責及關切。
外交部強調，中華民國政府一貫採取支持區域非核化立場，因此鄭重呼籲北韓當局，確實遵守聯合國安理會相關決議，立即停止任何損及區域安全舉措。
中華民國政府重申支持有關各方以和平對話方式解決韓半島問題，共同維護韓半島及東亞區域和平與穩定。1050909
